Number 5 Cromwell Place

Number 5 Cromwell Place was one the home and art studio of Sir John Lavery, the irish painter. This impressive 19th century building has, for the past three years , been used by South Kensington Estates for temporary art and design exhibitions as part of the Brompton Design District initiative.
The grade-ll listed building will soon be available to let following a careful renovation by young architects Thomas Croft, who have cleverly combined the original period features with contemporary finishes. The size of the building (around 4000 sq ft with a first floor ballroom of 1000 sq ft) allows it to be used as an art gallery, embassy or studio on a grand scale, similar to that of Lord and Lady Lavery’s in the late 1890’s.
