Overview

South Kensington Estates Ltd (SKE) was founded in 1997 as an in-house property management company for a family-run estate located in South Kensington. SKE began to invest in and develop the portfolio of both residential and commercial properties with a view to restoring the estate to its former 19th century glory after a period of neglect from previous managers. In 2005 SKE invested in additional property, extending the portfolio considerably by purchasing from the Wellcome Trust three large blocks of mixed use properties at the eastern end of the Brompton Road, now called the Brompton Quarter.

SKE now professionally manages, invests in and develops the residential and commercial properties, over 400 in total, in both South Kensington and the Brompton Quarter. The company is committed to working with the local council and local residents to create the right retail mix that improves the area for those who live, work and enjoy South Kensington.

The South Kensington estate encompasses Thurloe Street, Thurloe Place and the lower part of both Cromwell Place and Exhibition Road. The Brompton Quater comprises the western end of the Brompton Road and the eastern end of Thurloe Place. SKE also manages both Thurloe Square Garden and Alexander Square Gardens as well as a handful of rural properties outside London.
