  Kettle’s Yard     28th March 2011

Kettle's Yard: Found

Kettle’s Yard, based in Cambridge,  is a unique collection of art housed in a beautiful building that’s open to the public. The gallery is holding a pop-up exhibition of it’s collection with newly commissioned pieces at the garage, North Terrace.

One-off artworks, found objects, textiles, rugs, furniture and crafts will be sold in a pop-up shop, running from Tuesday 17 May-Sunday 22 May, 2011, to raise funds for the new education wing of Kettle’s Yard House and Gallery in Cambridge, the country’s finest collection of 20th century art in a domestic setting.

Artists, designers, photographers, ceramicists, textile designers, gallerists and collectors have all donated pieces to sell, from their studios and collections, many of which have never been exhibited before.

The exhibition will feature arts and craft pieces from many artists and collectors including works by Paul Klee, Eric Gill, Elspeth Owen and Natasha Daintry. One off pieces by David nash, Peter Randall-Page and Tom Dixon will also be available to buy. Prices range from £10 to £2,000 with profits going toward building a new education wing at the gallery. The pop-up shop is part of the Brompton Design District, supported by South Kensington Estates.
