The London Festival of Architecture 2008 will be launching on Exhibition Road on the 21st June and will bring with it a host of exciting events and exhibitions about the city’s built environment.

One of the key projects for the Exhibition Road hub is the ‘Brompton Stoops’ pavilion, that will be erected on Exhibition Road this Saturday while the road is closed to traffic (from 10 am – 6 pm).

The stoops are designed by 6a Architects, commissioned by South Kensington Estates in association with Icon magazine. The cardboard structures have been made using materials provided by SCA, the Swedish paper manufacturer. SCA’s UK branch have worked with 6a Architects to create large and small versions of the stoops that will eventually be used in schools and youth groups in the borough.
